Yay for John Mayer!

So for those of you who don't know...I'm a little obsessed with John Mayer, and I got the chance to see him for the third time last night! It was a blast! (Except for the onry old ladies sitting behind us that kept yelling at us to sit down, and then proceeded to start throwing things!... if you are reading this crazy ladies...GET OVER IT! You can't expect to go to a concert and have people just sit there and not have fun!)

It was so fun to have a girls night with Calie and Cassi! Thank to both of them for coming and making it memorable!

Lake Powell July 2008

We went on our annual week long Lake Powell trip this past week with Billy's family. Its so strange...the first year we did it by about Thursday we were all ready to go home, (except Billy's mom, who I think could probably live at Lake Powell) and now after we've gone the past few years it seems like the week just gets shorter and shorter and we never want to come home!

Silly Sophie

This trip will always be burned into my memory because I had my first rattlesnake experience. It was pitch black out and I had just finished changing into my pj's and I was walking next to the tents and heard that dreadful rattle....I nearly had a heart attack. I didn't have a flashlight so I had no idea where it was. Then Holly shined her light up towards me and I discovered that it was about 6 inches from my foot. I don't think I've ever jumped and ran so fast in my life! The guys found it and killed it for me, however I steered clear of walking around in the dark the rest of the week!

I just have to say that I love being able to spend time with Billy's fam down there! The girls have such a great time baking in the sun! I have to give a big congrats to Monica for being able to get up on the wakeboard! (Something I have yet to accomplish..I don't know what my problem is, but that's ok, I'll stick to kneeboarding!)

I honestly have to say that Lake Powell is one of my favorite places to be! I'm so grateful for Billy's parents who take us on these trips and always make them so memorable! A big thanks to them and to Holly & Blaine (Monica's sister & bro in law) for providing so much for us down there! Also a big thanks to Billy's sisters for being awesome tanning buddies, and always keeping me laughing!

Memory Lane...

Okay so I saw everyone was doing this while I was gone so I thought I would join in...

Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember, good or bad but be nice!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Keep it going. ENJOY!!

I guess I'm a little post happy :)

So I got a little post happy this afternoon, so I hope you all enjoy the new pics and blurbs about them! I just have to say...I'm so glad that I set up this blog and was able to find all of you guys' as well! It is such a cool way to keep in touch, and to be able to see what everyone has been up too!

Anyway, so I had a little idea and I wanted to get some feedback from all those who read my blog. I was thinking about creating another blog and devoting it to fun recipes and such. I don't know about you guys but I always like to try new recipes, but when you go get cookbooks from all of the chefs you see on the Food Network, most of their recipes call for strange, sometimes unheard of ingredients. I just like easy, normal, yummy recipes, and the way I thought I could find new ones was to create a Recipe blog that we can all add recipes too as we try them out....so give me some feedback and let me know what you think!

Okay, well I am off to Lake Powell for 7 days of fun and sun! I'll be back to blogging in a week or so!

2008 Thomas Family Reunion

Today was the Sher & Ruth Thomas Family reunion. (That is my mom's grandpa and grandma) I rarely see any of my relatives from that side of the family, so it was nice to get together with them. They had it at the Santaquin Park so it wasn't far from home.
The girls had fun playing with the playdough, and even made necklaces with it to take home.

We did an auction to help raise money to pay for next year's reunion. Everyone brought something handmade, or a family heirloom. My uncle Sherwin was the auctioneer and his wife Kathleen was his assistant...Here he is modeling the handmade aprons! I took one of my little magnet boards I made around Christmas time, and surprisingly it sold for $10! The kids had fun because they found a baby bird, and I let them take my camera to get pictures. This is what they came back with...I have to say, they are quite the photographers!

Take me out to the ball game....

On Friday night my company took us all to an Orem Owlz baseball game. Billy isn't a huge baseball fan so I invited my nephew, Jarrett, as my guest. It turned out to be his lucky day! My company was able to choose someone to be able to throw the first pitch at the game and Jarrett was the lucky one to be chosen! He was so excited. He even got his hat autographed by the guy that caught his pitch. He thought that was pretty cool! Later in the evening, Jarrett was able to meet and get a picture with country singer, Collin Raye! He was so excited. The ball he is holding in the pic is the one he pitched, and they let him keep it. He had Hootz (the mascot) and Collin Raye sign it for him!
Jarrett is such an awesome kid! The first thing he said to me after he pitched the ball was "You'll have to tell your boss thank you very much for letting me do this!" He was such a gentleman! He never has any problem making friends, and he made a new one at the game...our law clerk, Chad. Chad was awesome enough to listen to all of his stories!
One memory I wanted to share was, we were talking about how Jarrett was excited for his little brother to come, and how he thought that since Cierra and Saige were alot like Caiden he was sure that his new brother would be just like him. Then I asked him what he wanted to name his new little brother and he said..."well I was thinking I would ask my mom if we could name him Chad" (He must have thought our law clerk was one cool guy!)
Anyway, thanks to Jarrett for going with me, I had a blast!

Ute Stampede!

It has been forever since I've been to the Ute Stampede down in Nephi, but it was just as fun as I remember it! Most of my family all went together on Thursday night, everyone except my little brother and my nephew, Caiden. A big thanks to Greg and Julie for getting us all tickets!
The thing I love best about rodeos is seriously the hamburgers! I don't know why they are so much better than any other hamburgers in the world, but I think they are! A funny memory about this is when I was little my family went to the Ute Stampede and my dad went and got us all hamburgers. When get got done passing them out we realized mine didn't have any meat, and he was a little annoyed by it, but apparently my response to my dad was "well I didn't order meat on my hamburger!" To this day I haven't lived that one down! As for the rodeo, I would have to say it was pretty good. To be honest, I didn't pay much attention, as I spent most of the night playing with my sweet nieces! They were having a good time posing for the camera, and seeing the rodeo princesses! The Dixie girls even gave them an autographed photo, and they were so excited!

In other news...Saige won what she calls the "Pretty Girl Contest" down in Nephi (its really the baby contest, but she insists she's not a baby!) Cierra won a door prize so she was a winner too! But to me...they are both the cutest girls in the world!

Too Funny...

So while I was being lazy today, watching TV and blogging, Toby was chillin' on the bed with me, and since I don't have any kids that do cute things, you guys get to see the cute things my dog does :) During one of the commercials a cat walked onto the TV screen, and oh my goodness I laughed so hard I was crying at Toby's reaction...

He's always had an issue with cats. I've had to chase him across the street many times after he's taken off after a cat, but I've never had him react this way to a cat on TV. I kept the TV paused at that spot for awhile just to see his reaction and it was just so irritating to him! He just sat there and growled at it until I unpaused it.

Fourth of July Festivities!

We had a pretty busy Fourth of July weekend...I don't think I have stayed up that late three nights in a row in years! Thursday night, my brother had a BBQ at his place, it was quite the little shin dig. We ate, played a little poker, and pretty much just chilled most of the night.

Friday, the girls all got together and went to Stadium of Fire, to see Miley Cyrus...and can I just say she was totally over-rated! The Blue Man Group was a lot more entertaining than she was! But we still had a great time. Billy's little sister danced out on the field, and she did awesome. The fireworks were probably the best I've seen at the Stadium of Fire in a couple years.

Saturday night we went up to my Aunt's cabin in Schofield and had a hotdog roast and watched the fireworks over the lake. Billy got a little bit of fishing in, and although we got a little rain, the rainbow kept all of the kids in awe! It was a great night making smores and just hanging out with family!

Now that its Sunday...all of our big plans are over and we are going to be recuperating all day!
