So, Billy had quite the excitement this weekend! While on a hunting/camping/fishing trip with my dad this weekend, he decided to go out on his own and do a little fishing. He was about an hour from the cabin, by himself at the lake, and a storm rolled in. He hurried and packed up and jumped on his four-wheeler to head back to camp. The storm came on to fast and all of a sudden there was lightning striking all around him. Then he said it suddenly felt like someone hit him in the head with a shovel, and there was a bright flash. He looked down at the screen on his four-wheeler and saw it was going haywire, and realized he had just been STRUCK BY LIGHTNING!
Once he realized what was going on he just punched it and got out of there! He is so lucky he wasn't knocked unconscious! He tried speaking and couldn't understand a word he was saying! He finally got back to camp, and that's when it really hit him what had happened. By then he had gotten the ability to speak back, but just felt a little off. After a few hours and much persuading we spent the night at the ER getting his heart checked out just to make sure, and thankfully everything look normal! It was quite hilarious at the ER, though. He was the only one in the entire room that looked like he was actually okay (others there had broken arms, cut hands, looking on the verge of passing out) and they took him back first because everyone was so curious! We had about 10 people come in the room and ask him about it, they were so fascinated! The doc that checked him out had worked at a burn hospital in AZ and had dealt with lightning strikes before, so I felt pretty good in his diagnosis!
I'm so thankfully that he wasn't injured! He is certain that his new four wheeler tires that have 2X the rubber than the stock tires, saved his life. Also he had a hat and the hood of his coat on so the strike kind of went around him rather than through him. So even though he doesn't have any battle wounds, he still has a pretty good story to tell!
Even though this little event kind of put a hamper on the weekend, they still had a great time down there! They all were able to get a bird or two, and he said the fishing was pretty good!

*She loves to do silly off the wall things with me! One of my favorite times was singing karaoke at Atchafalaya, where we almost got in a fight, because apparently some girl didn't like us! Although, to this day, neither of us know what we did to provoke it!
