Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Irelyn and I had a very eventful St. Patrick's Day! We started the day bright and early at my parent's house helping out with their yard sale. I was amazed at how well it went for being a bunch of junk out of their basement! On a whim, the night before I took down all of my kitchen decorations to take over with me to see if I could sell them. I've had the same kitchen decor since we got married, and I am so ready for new! I ended up selling most of it, so I guess I get to redecorate! My kitchen is so sad and bare right now. I hadn't even really thought about what I wanted to do, so I have a big job ahead of me!

This little princess was a trooper all day. She was happy and smiling at all of our patrons! She was all decked out in her green for St. Patty's day. Her face in this pic just cracks me up! She is such a character!

After our successful yard sale, my mom made our annual St. Patrick's Day dinner. Corned Beef, Cabbage and little red potatoes....it was absolutely amazing! I was going to take a picture, but was famished by that time and just started devouring what was on my plate!

My brother's kids were up there as well so we made a trip over to the park. It was Irelyn's first time playing at the park, and I think she loved it! She went down the slide with Saige several times, and took a swing with mommy. When we were done and I put her in her stroller she fell asleep almost immediately! The park tuckered her out!

Loved this pic of Saige. She posed and asked me to take her picture in the tree!
All in all it was a fabulous lucky day!

8 Months

This little beauty is growing up right before my eyes! That first birthday is creeping up on me so fast. I woke up this morning to her smiles, and she just looked so grown up. It made me a little sentimental, but I love everything about this age. She is so interactive with you, and always wants to be in the middle of everything! (Which isn't very hard for her, because she is ALWAYS the center of attention no matter where we go!) She is rolling all over the place, but hasn't really tried to crawl at all, even with the gentle urging of her daddy.  I'm okay with her waiting to crawl...I enjoy being able to put her down while I shower and not having to go find her when I'm done.

About a week ago she started to do a cute new thing that always gets a laugh out of everyone. While staying at Grandma's house while we went out to dinner she was so curious about what Uncle Dustin was doing. He was playing the Wii and she was sitting on Grandma's lap. She would bend over, tilting her head as far as she could go, just staring at Dustin trying to figure him out. Ever since then, when she wants a better look or wants to investigate you even more, she will do the head tilt. The funniest part of it is that she can be laughing and smiling, and then almost immediately switch to a very serious face, and do the tilt. She keeps us laughing!

She really loves it when her Mommy reads to her, especially her Counting Kisses book when Mommy showers her with kisses. She literally DEVOURS books :)

She is very much a Momma's girl, which is a blessing and a curse. When she is in a grumpy mood, Mommy is the only one that can be around, and if I leave the room, look out for the tears! I have a hard time even using the bathroom on these days!  However, there is nothing better than her snuggling up with me on the couch! We took a nap today with her lying on my chest, just like we did when she was newborn, and Mommy was in Heaven!!

On the food front, basically if you put it in front of her, she will eat it! She LOVES food! I gave her a raw apple slice the other day and she gnawed on that thing for 30 minutes, and loved every minute.  We still do baby food purees, but I have started more often just to cut up what we are eating, and she does good with that too. She ate almost an entire quesadilla the other day, and I'm pretty sure she would eat pizza everyday if I let her!
She still loves her bunny, and sleeps with it every night. Mommy goes in to check on her 3-4 times to make sure she isn't smothering herself with it. I'd take it away, but no fail every time I do she wakes up and cries! She is still doing really well with sleeping. When she is ready for bed, she lets you know! Nothing will soothe her except being left alone in her crib with her bunny and sound spa. She goes to bed about 8:30pm and sleeps until 6:00am, wakes up and eats, then sleeps for another few hours. She usually takes 2-3 naps throughout the day.

She is such a happy baby, and rarely ever fusses. It takes a lot to make this girl cry. We went up to Idaho last weekend, and she, like usual, was the center of attention. I was trying to catch the head tilt, but didn't get it. However, she was still being ridiculously cute :) (I realize I'm probably the only one that thinks it is ridiculously cute...Well, maybe Grandma too! )

2/3rds of a year have come and gone. It just baffles me that time can move so fast! I can't believe I am already starting to think about her first birthday party. This girl is seriously the light in my life. Everyday I thank my Heavenly Father that he sent me such a wonderful gift. She makes even the roughest trials in my life seem bearable, because I know that she loves me and is always good for a smile, laugh or a snuggle! I stand over her crib every night not wanting to go to bed. I'd rather watch her sleep all night! Being a mom has been the most amazing thing to ever happen in my life. I'm so grateful that I've been given this chance!  Love my sweet girl.
