This day seemed so far away 11 months ago....However, it crept up on me too fast! All I can say this month is, WOW! What a difference a month can make. I swear my little sweetheart went from baby to toddler in one month!
She is loving crawling now that she has gotten it figured out! I think at first she just realized that she could crawl to a certain object she wanted, but now has realized that she can crawl ANYWHERE!
She is still cruising around the furniture like crazy, and is getting so brave! At the first of this last month when she would let go she would get a look of terror on her face. Now she is testing her limits to see how long she can stand without holding on! She can now pull herself up onto just about anything she can find.
Now that we have a crawler, she is getting into EVERYTHING!!
This is what generally occurs every night while I cook dinner.
Her hair has finally gotten long enough to put it in a sponge curler, so no more mohawk curls! Everyone is always so shocked at how light her hair is. It even has a hint of red when we are in the sun. I was blonde until I was at least 5 years old, so I'm assuming the blond will be short lived and it will start turning brown like mine. However, I could be wrong, we may have a little towhead on our hands!
This girl LOVES her Toby dog...Toby on the other hand is still not quite sure about her. Her face lights up whenever he walks into the room. She claps her hands and squeals when he gets close to her, which usually scares him into the other direction! He has however discovered that she is a great source for food and will hang out around the bottom of her high chair, or around her feet if she has cereal on the coffee table. I think he is warming up to her, finally realizing she isn't going anywhere.
I walked into her room this morning to find this:
I had left a pillow in her room and I think he thought I'd left it in there as a bed for him! (Notice the Mountain Dew can on the floor...she still loves crawling towards them, and knows exactly what to do when she gets to it! Too bad her mommy won't open it for her!)
Still only two teeth. We keep thinking she is going to start getting more because she constantly chews on her fingers, but nothing yet! She is miserably sick right now, which isn't fun for any of us! Still LOVES her bunny, snuggles it all day. She will give you kisses like crazy, and loves to give her dolls and animals kisses too. Her favorite words are Baba, Yaya, and Dada. Won't even think about saying Mama...makes her mommy sad! Baba refers to her bottle, her bunny and Toby I think.
Oh, one more thing I want to remember....this girl is smitten with her Aunt Whitney. She must have some kind of special touch because there are three people in this world that this baby girl will reach for: me, Billy and Whitney. She has even been known to reach out for Whitney over her own parents! Whitney is babysitting for us this summer while she isn't teaching school, and I'm thinking that the infatuation will only get worse! That's okay with me though, I have always loved being an aunt, and hope to give Irelyn's aunts the same opportunity!
| This is her and her Aunt Whitney. It is from March, but it's the only one I had |
Well, party plans are in the works! Some decorations have already been made, invitations are designed ( just waiting on getting her pictures back to finish them up!), and cakes are being designed! I am full of a mixture of sadness and excitement! Every stage with Irelyn has been so much fun, but I am missing my baby! She was wearing cute little shorts and a tshirt the other day and her diaper was sticking out of the top. To me that is such a toddler thing! Babies are usually in onesies, and it's always the toddlers that have their diaper sticking up out of their shorts. I don't know why that made me all sentimental, but it did! Haha, the crazy things motherhood does to you! This girl is the world to me (and her daddy to!) and I love that she is mine!
